Years 3, 4, 5 & 6 swimming gala v Town Close School

Last Wednesday our Years 3, 4, 5 & 6 pupils hosted Town Close School for another exciting and enjoyable swimming gala. We won! The final score was

HOHS – 105

Town Close – 95

Warwick and James in Year 6 were magnificent and won every race they were in (James coming first and Warwick very close behind for second place). Caitlin (Year 3) and  Skyla-Grace (Year 5) also both had first and second places across the board.

Other placings included Cristina, Year 6 (first, back crawl), closely followed by Annie, Year 6; Fleur, Year 6, (first, breaststroke), Anna and Cristina, Year 6,  first and second (freestyle), and Years 3 and 6, first (medleys).

Year 6 were on fire but the whole HOHS team swam beautifully and Mrs McEvoy has not named boys or girls of the gala because she is so proud of them all…well done!

Sports results: Years 3, 4, 5 & 6 swimming v Norwich High School

Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 competed at home against the Girls’ High School on Tuesday in a fantastic, roof-raising gala. All pupils in these year groups had been invited to compete this time, so it was a very well attended fixture, with about 30 swimmers from HOHS competingSwimmers and a good crowd of spectators.

It proved a very evenly-matched gala and we achieved some fantastic wins across the board. Everyone held their breath as the final points tally was read out…to discover our ‘A’ team had achieved TOP position by a margin of just one point!

Boy of the Gala is Maxim and Girl of the Gala is Ellie – it was their first time in a gala and I was so proud of them both for overcoming their nerves and swimming magnificently!

Well done to all the swimmers and thanks to all the parents for their support.

Mrs McEvoy

Sports results: Years 6, 7, 8 & 9 swimming v Norwich High School

SwimmersOn Tuesday 12th May a group of our girls from Years 6, 7 and 8 – and Frankie from Year 9 – travelled to Norwich High School for a hugely enjoyable swimming gala with A and B teams from both schools participating.

The final result was a win for the Girls’ High A team, with our A team in second place and our B team in third place and fourth place going to the Girls’ High B team.

We had some outstanding wins including our Year 6 coming first in both medley and front crawl relays despite competing against an older team. Special mention – and Girl of the Gala – goes to Alabama, who not only came first in the individual front crawl and back crawl races, but also swam two legs in each relay!

Well done, everyone!

Sports results: Years 6, 4 & 8 swimming v Norwich High School

In the last week of term our Years 6, 7 and 8 pupils had a fabulous swimming gala experience against Norwich High School for Girls.
Swimmers
Mrs McEvoy was delighted with everyone’s performance and display of excellent technique and style. Competing against a t
eam of experienced, high-level swimmers, we came second overall but it was a highly enjoyable fixture with plenty of support for both sides.

Girl and Boy of the Match awards went to Taonga and William (Year 6), both competing in their first-ever gala and doing very well.
