Joyeuses Pâques from Year 2

Year 2 had a very creative French lesson with Mrs Evers-Jones in the last week of term, colouring and cutting out pretty little Easter baskets and learning the names of many colours and Easter-related words.

Note-perfect for Year 2

Our Year 2 pupils were enjoying a recorder lesson (and sounded very tuneful!) when I popped in with the camera last week. Impressive concentration and technique, Year 2!

Disneyesque afternoon in the Barn

Featuring songs from Disney films and with solos, duets, ensembles and whole House contributions, our annual house music festival was a feast for the ears and eyes in The Barn on Thursday afternoon this week.

The three houses, in hot competition, all performed beautifully in the allocated categories, making the adjudicators’ work very difficult!

Points were allocated for both musicality and performance and, in the end, it was Ryder who triumphed for the third year running. Well done everyone for all your hard work and commitment during rehearsals and for entertaining each other and the staff so enthusiastically.

Thanks, too, to Mr Osborne for performing his master of ceremonies role with aplomb, to Mrs Richards for her expert feedback and to the panel of judges, Mrs Richards, Mrs Grove and Mrs Crump.

A musical morning for the Lower Prep

Last Friday the Lower Prep pupils showcased their many musical talents when they put on a concert for parents. There were some fantastic solo and group performances on the keyboard, guitar, recorder and cello and some wonderful singing from each class.

Well done to all the pupils who took part, and a big thank you to the class teachers and individual music teachers for making it happen.
