Boarders go tubing

This weekend the boarders visited Norfolk Snowsports Club in Norwich for a tubing experience. The sun shone and the skies cleared in time for the girls to hurl themselves down the slopes in the giant inflatable rings. The shrieks of laughter grew even louder when the centre turned on the water jets, as the slope became even faster!

Boarders hit the slopes and go tubing

This week the boarders went to Trowse to experience Tubing. For those not ‘in the know’,  this involves whizzing down a dry ski slope in a large inflatable ring….and crashing into the foam barriers at the end. The combination of speed and wind in the hair was exhilarating and there was a great deal of laughter and yelling from all involved. Some girls even managed to cope with the inflatable being spun so they went down the slopes in circles…although this proved too much for the staff, who retreated to a safe area to observe the fun and calm down with a cup of hot chocolate!

Boarders go tubing

Eighteen boarders were joined by Miss Mann, Mrs Grove and Sonita on the ski slopes of Trowse last weekend.

For those who don’t know, ‘tubing’ entails sliding down the ski slope in a massive rubber ring – great fun. There is not much skill involved but it is very exciting!

Suitably equipped with warm clothing, helmet and gloves we were sent up the slope on the travelator and took it in turns to hurtle – safely – down the slope into the padded orange triangles at the bottom. We found out very quickly that leaning back made us go faster!

As our expertise increased, we were linked together, first in groups of three and then the whole team. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed this visit and will doubtless be back for more!

Boarders hit the slopes and go tubing

Last Saturday the boarders went snow tubing. Although this was my second time there, I was really nervous because I am scared of heights. I was wondering whether I would “survive” or break a leg!

However, after one run, it started to get really interesting and fun. The best part was definitely the group tubing. I had a great time, as did all the other boarders.
