Lucy is Gymnast of the Year

At HOHS we like to celebrate pupils’ successes out of school as well as within, so we were very proud to hear that Lucy (Year 8) has won another gymnastics accolade. Last week she was named 2016 Gymnasts’ Gymnast of the Year at the annual awards ceremony at her gymnastics club Split Leaps. The award is an honour voted for by all members of the club and marks the end of a fantastic year full of achievements for Lucy – well done!

Lucy Vaults into First Place

Lucy C, Year  9,  regularly takes part  in gymnastics competitions to county level with her gymnastics club Split Leaps.  On Saturday she competed in her last of the year – the Split Leaps In House competition. Her upgraded routines, in preparation for next year, included a vault that she had only landed for the first time last week. Despite tough competition from her teammates, Lucy came away with Bronze for bars and a Gold for vault. She is now looking ahead to her first competition in 2017 –  after a break for Christmas of course!

Well done, Lucy!

Lucy Leaps to Gymnastics Success

We are always pleased to share news of our pupils’ successes out of school as well as within, so we were delighted to hear how well Lucy (Year 8) performed in the Split Leaps Gymnastics In-House Competition this weekend. She came away with two Gold and two Silver medals, as well as the All Around award after scoring the highest overall score in her category (Intermediate). This was an incredible achievement as it was Lucy’s first full competition since breaking her finger back in September. Well done, Lucy!

Lucy tumbles into ‘Medal Place’

Congratulations to Lucy C who joined us in Year 7 this September, having moved to Norfolk from Bristol. Having previously been a member of Bristol Hawks Gymnastics club, Lucy joined Split Leaps Gymnastics based at UEA and has recently competed in two gymnastics competitions with them.

On Sunday 26th October, she competed in the Norfolk Regional Women’s Apparatus Competition, held at the UEA. She achieved 7th place out of 43 in her age group on bar and vault – a very good result as she’d only been with the club for six weeks!

On Sunday 9th November, Lucy competed in the Norfolk Gymnastics Association Trampette and Tumbling Competition, held at Easton College. She was placed second in her age group/level for tumbling, and is pictured here with her medal and certificate.

Well done, Lucy.Lucy gymnastics
