County Badminton Success for Izzy!


Congratulations to Izzy (Year 10) who competed in a Badminton England U17 Bronze competition last weekend in Suffolk.  The competition was open to entrants nationally, and she competed against strong players from across East Anglia and the Southern Counties.  Izzy played very well and went on to win gold at mixed with her partner Charlie (pictured).  She also won silver with her doubles partner Charlotte, just missing out in a close final with a score of 21-18.

County Badminton Success for Izzy!


Congratulations to Izzy (Year 10) who has been selected to play for both the U16 and U18 Norfolk Badminton teams.  Izzy is pictured below, left, after winning an adults tournament with her doubles partner Charlotte over the Summer.  Her first county match is this Sunday when she’ll be travelling to play against Essex for the Under 18 team. Isabelle is U14 doubles Norfolk Schools Champion!

Isabelle S (Year 9) competed in the Norfolk U14 Schools Badminton competition at the weekend.  She played against a large entry of the best players from across the county and, after some exciting games, won both the girls and mixed doubles competition and was runner up in the girls singles! Congratulations, Izzy, on this fantastic achievement.

Match report: U12 Badminton

The U12 badminton team got their league campaign off with a 7-2 win over Ormiston Victory Academy. Despite a slow start the girls found their rhythm and the team were able to demonstrate some good attacking badminton.

 Skyla-Grace and Annie: 21-3, 21-19, 21-20

 Rachel and Anna: 21-8, 21-9, 20-21

 Cristina and Ashlyn: 16-21, 21-13, 21-9

 A special mention to Skyla-Grace who has been chosen to represent the team despite only being in Year 6.

 In two weeks time the team play league leaders Fakenham.

U12s Badminton team – Norfolk Schools Champions!

Our U12 badminton team have once again won the Norfolk Schools Badminton competition in their age group – meaning HOHS has retained the champions’ shield for the fifth year in a row!Congratulations to Harriet, Mia, Emily and Imogen (Year 7) and Anna, Annie and Cristina (Year 6) for a splendid season.

U14s Badminton team Norfolk Schools Champions!

Having won all of their league matches, our U14 team made the short trip to Hethersett Academy today to play Norwich High School in the final of the Norfolk Schools Badminton competition and won by six games to three.

Congratulations to Amy, Alice, Isabelle, Sophie, Hannah and Rebekah for a splendid season.

Izzy crowned Norfolk Schools Champion!

badmintonsmIsabelle (Year 7) competed – and triumphed – in the Norfolk Schools badminton competition last weekend. She played a large number of games and went on to win the level doubles against tough competition. Izzy and her partner Charlotte won in 3 sets to be crowned Norfolk Schools Champion.

The following day, Izzy played in yet another Norfolk competition. With over 40 participants taking part, March Madness is a fun competition to mark the end of the season.

Izzy played extremely well and went on to win both the ‘Top U12 Girl’ and ‘Best Sports Girl’ awards.
