Sports Update: Summer Term

Welcome back, everyone, from the PE Department – an exciting term awaits us! Now we have the daylight on our side, we commence a term of athletics, cricket and rounders.
We have plenty of rounders fixtures in place for our teams, starting with the U16 team next Wednesday vs Sprowston at home. The picture below is from last summer.

We will be developing our ability to run, jump and throw in preparation for Sports Day which will be on Thursday 21st June. This is a whole school event and something we all look forward to. Sports Day support from parents and family members is greatly encouraged – so if you can come to cheer us on, please do!

We will be introducing the pupils to our new fitness suite and look forward to seeing them all in action. I am wondering whether we can row, ride, run or cycle to somewhere far away if we keep track ofour collective distances as a school?!

Bright and Beautiful Assembly by Reception Pupils

Our reception pupils  have been thinking about what makes a good friend – and they showed their parents and the rest of the Prep School pupils what they had learned  in assembly this morning.  The children acted out things we can do to make each other happy, including playing together and sharing toys.  They then told us the story of a rainbow fish (Sophie) who gave away her brightly-coloured scales to other fish and ended up feeling happy as could be with lots of friends!  The children did  A great job, remembering their words and saying them clearly and confidently.  They also sang the Rainbow Song and All Things Bright and Beautiful. Well done, everyone, and thank you to all the parents for coming to  watch!
