Our ‘stars’ this week were…

Star-of-week

Our most recent ‘Stars’, receiving special mention by Mr Peace in this morning’s Prep Department Praise Assembly, are:

Vera C-M (Nursery), for her listening and understanding in class and for being thoughtful. Vera is doing well with being a good friend.

Grace T (Nursery), for very good improvement with her reading – Grace has gone up a level.

Noah H (Year 1), for always working hard and persevering. Noah has gone up in his reading and is doing very well with his handwriting.

Evelyn B (Year 2), for excellent participation in play rehearsals. Evelyn really gets into her character and knows all of her lines thoroughly.

Well done to all of these ‘stars’! Who will it be next week?

Our ‘stars’ of the week

Our ‘Stars’ of the week, receiving special mention from Mr Peace and their teachers in our Prep Department Praise Assembly this morning, are:

Edward M (Year 3) for working hard on similes and personification and for being helpful towards a visiting pupil.

Albert C (Year 4)  for being kind to our visiting pupil this week and for achieving full marks in his times table each week.

Amy B-G (Year 5) for excellent written multiplication skills; Amy has enhanced the whole class by working so hard.

Emma F-B (Year 6)  for good work on fractions. Emma has also demonstrated a very kind-hearted nature.

Our most recent ‘Stars’, receiving special mention by Mr Peace in this morning’s Prep Department Praise Assembly, are:

Ada R (Nursery Green), for showing wonderful growth in confidence since starting in September, especially in PE and rugby where she is now very happily joining in.

Samaara Y (Reception), for fantastic work as narrator for the nativity production – she is learning her words really well off by heart.

Matthias S (Year 1), for some superb creative work and meticulous craft activities making woodland tree decorations.

Sophie L (Year 2), for working very hard on learning her lines and expressing the character of her angel in nativity rehearsals.

Our most recent ‘Stars’, receiving special mention by Mr Peace in yesterday’s  Prep Department Praise Assembly, are:

Lucia (Year 3), for working very hard in maths and especially in 4-value place calculations. Lucia’s work is very neat and well set out, well done!

Chloe (Year 4), for great work on her information book about the ancient Greeks and for working very well independently.

Caitlin (Year 5), for working very hard on her creative writing: she wrote a lovely poem about a snowflake using personification.

Lydia (Year 6), for being much more confident in maths lessons and for neat and accurate work. Lydia is also very kind to friends.

Ben McN (Nursery Green), for super manners and wonderful listening skills. Ben always arrives smiling and happy every morning, too!

Lacey N (Reception), for great work on her reading and for being confident to get up on the stage!

Reno M (Year 1), for working very hard on his ‘Monkey Book’ story. Reno produced a wonderful story with excellent illustrations!

Jack W (Year 2), for amazing work on his Hallowe’en-themed acrostic poem and an excellent effort in the Year 2 class assembly this week, too.

Match report: U13 & U14 hockey v Thetford Grammar School

On Wednesday afternoon we hosted Thetford Grammar School for both U13 and U14 hockey fixtures. In both games, some excellent skills were on show with some wonderful defending from Ashlyn, Emily and Darcey in the U13 game. Superb goal-scoring skills were demonstrated by Harriet and Mia in the U14 game.

Final scores-

U13 0-0. Player of the Match was Cristina for her top level of effort and determination throughout the whole game.
U14 8-0 win with four goals each from Harriet and Mia, who also shared the honour of Players of the Match.

Isabella G (Year 3), for being consistently hard working and sociable, a lovely member of the class.

Oliver (Year 4), for excellent achievement with his four times table.

Eve (Year 5), for getting her spellings all correct, for neat handwriting and for some inspiring creative writing.

Isabella W (Year 6), for settling well into school and making friends already, and for excellent work on fractions.
