On Wednesday 20th May we held our annual evening reception for around thirty Year 13 pupils, parents and teachers in the Quiet Room.
Although the cool weather meant it was an indoor event this year, there was no lack of warmth amongst the guests as happy reminiscences of the girls’ time in school were nostalgically recalled.
A fine buffet laid on by Mr Reeves made sure the evening went with a swing, which ended with a photoshoot! See all the photos here.
Wednesday this week was the last day of classes for our Year 11s who are now on study leave preparing for their GCSEs.
In time-honoured fashion, they came into school for Celebration Day in colourful costume portraying characters from film and literature (Minnie Mouse and Hermione Granger were both present!).
They brightened up the school with some amusing photos and beautiful balloons before giving a final assembly as a year group, showing some nostalgic images and words celebrating their lives in school so far.
After a delicious lunch with staff (thanks to Mr Reeves and the catering team) they rounded off their day with an interform rounders match – still in costume – before leaving to prepare for the next day’s examinations.
Good luck with your examinations, girls, and we all hope your hard work pays off. You have been a delightful year group.
Last Friday our Year 13 pupils dug out their old school uniforms for one last time and celebrated the start of their study leave with a picnic in the grounds.
Not wanting to miss out on the fun – or perhaps the chance to behave badly – some of the teachers also decided to try on the kilts, ties and caps for size. Clearly some of them hadn’t read up on the HOHS uniform dress and appearance regulations first..
