After looking at the work of Andy Goldsworthy, Years 3 & 4 have been creating their own outdoor natural art – from beautiful flowers to huge dinosaurs!
Noah has finally joined all the animals in the Reception class ark. Let’s just hope this isn’t a sign of heavy rainfall ahead..
Reception pupils have started their new topic about water.
They began by listening to the story of Noah’s Ark and imagined what it must have been like to be on the ark with all the animals as it sailed across the world.
They thought carefully about the things they would need to take with them on their journey and then drew and labelled their objects in a suitcase. They have made a large collage picture of the ark and animals and have been discussing the colours of the rainbow.
The children are busy making rainbow mobiles to hang in the classroom. They have enjoyed playing with the wooden Noah`s Ark and have counted the animals into the ark in twos as an introduction to their two times table.
Year 1 have been learning all about old toys as part of their theme work this term, so in March they visited Strangers’ Hall in Norwich.
“We went to Strangers’ Hall museum. We learnt about old toys and made our own moving gingerbread man toys.”
“It was very good fun there.”
“We had a picnic and played in the garden.”
“I would like to go again because I had a really nice time there.”
By Caitlin, Georgina, Max and Edith.
This term Year 2 have been learning all about traditional tales. As well as producing and staring in their own radio show they have created a series of ‘Wanted’ posters that are on display in their classroom. (See more of their work here.)
With such big rewards up for grabs it might be wise for Lucifer The Cat, The Ugly Sisters, Captain Hook and Co. to keep a low profile around school for the time being!
Year 4 have been learning about different sources of light and where it comes from. See more work from their ‘Let There Be Light’ display.
