Spend a week with Year 2

Life in Year 2 is all work and all play. On World Book Day we built a fantastic reading den in the middle of our classroom and spent the day reading, writing book reviews and making colourful bunting and posters for our tent. We loved our den so much that we decided to build a smaller version in the corner of our classroom so that we could keep on using it every day.

During the recent Open Morning we all had a great time making crowns – the perfect tie-in with the traditional tales we have been learning about.

Finally, after taking a walk out to the sports field to support some of our class members in their football match, the rest of us made the most of the beautiful grounds in the sunshine, including having story time outside!

Year 1 study materials in the playground

As part of their theme work this term, Year 1 have been learning all about different materials and the many uses they have in the school playground.

Pupils used a camera to take their own photos around the playground, before copying the images into a Word document. They then thought about the properties of the materials, typed their own captions and finally saved and printed their work. See more of their work.Year-1-materials2Year-1-materials
