Match report: U14 rounders v Thetford Grammar School

Yesterday our newly-formed U14 rounders team played their first game of the season in a very close match against Thetford Grammar School . There was just half a rounder in it at the end, with a final score of twelve rounders to Thetford and eleven and a half to us. What a closely fought match – it literally came down to the last ball of the game!  Player of the Match was awarded to Mia D, for her great hitting throughout!

Match Report: U12 and U14 netball v Thetford Grammar School

On a sunny but windy afternoon this week, the U14 and U12 netball teams travelled to Thetford. Both teams demonstrated how using channels within the game can help us to spread out to receive a pass. Sadly, neither team won but Players of the Match went to Harriet and Ruby D. Well done girls!

Match report: U12 and U14 hockey v Wymondham College

Both the U12 and U14 hockey teams were in action against Wymondham college yesterday.  We came away with one victory from the U12s, following a goal from Annie Harris, and a loss from the U14 team. It is worth noting, though, that our U14 were up against the A team from Wymondham.

Players of the match were Rosamaria E for helping to keep the goal tally down with some superb saves as goal keeper, and Rachel Y for her role in defence.

Great efforts all round, well done.

Match report: U16 hockey v Thetford Grammar School

Our U16 hockey team travelled to Thetford Grammar School yesterday afternoon. We started off slowly and conceded a goal within the first two minutes of the game but we fought back and Kelly equalised to take it to 1-1 at half time. In the second half, we were much more dominant and played some of the best hockey of the season. With one minute left we won a short corner and the whole team came forward. After a goal-mouth scramble the goal stopped on the line and captain Ella was there to slot the ball home. A 2-1 win to Hethersett!

The whole team played extremely well and Miss Mickleburgh awarded three players of the match:  Alice ‘the engine’, for demonstrating a superb performance in centre midfield, Gabriella for making some vital tackles and Ria for her tireless efforts up front.

SQUAD: Emily, Ella, Hannah, Gabriella, Isabel, Alice, Mia, Amy, Sofia, Francesca, Ria and Kelly.

Next week we play Norwich School hoping to continue our run of good form.
