Match report: U12 & U14 rounders v Langley

The U15 tournament on Tuesday was cancelled due to the weather. Norwich High are hoping to re-schedule and will get back to all the schools ASAP.

On Thursday 26th June HOHS hosted an U12 and U15 rounders match against Langley School. The U12’s put on a battling performance in the first innings and the scores were incredibly close, with Langley on 8 1/2 and HOHS on 8. Rounders coming from Hannah Young (1 1/2), Gabriella Moretti-Miles (1) and Isabelle Sellors (1 1/2).

During the second innings Langley’s bowler stepped up their game, and, despite some superb catching from Philippa Hardesty in deep field, Langley came out as winners 22 to 13.

Despite losing the game the girls can be incredibly pleased with how much their rounders has improved this term, both as individuals and as a team. The girls have attended regular practices and shown a positive attitude in lessons and we look forward to next years rounders games.

U12 Squad: Mollie Deeks, Aisling Kendall, Philippa Hardesty, Gabriella Moretti-Miles, Lacey Mayes, Ria Simmons, Hannah Young, Sophie Barrow, Sarah Kendall and Isabelle Sellors.

Team Captain: Lacey Mayes

Player of the Match: Awarded jointly to Gabrielle Moretti-Miles and Philippa Hardesty.

Match report: U12 & U14 rounders v Framlingham Earl

On Monday 23rd June HOHS hosted Framlingham Earl for the U12 and U14 rounders matches.

Despite it being their first match, our U12 team played a fantastic game, securing their first victory with a final score of 13 1/2 to 9 1/2. The Year 6 & 7’s have both been working incredibly hard to improve their rounders play in lessons and after school. The Year 6 girls by no means looked out of place and they were able to gain some vital rounders experience – well played girls!

SQUAD: Aisling Kendall, Mollie Deeks, Hannah Young, Ria Simmons, Gabriella Moretti-Miles, Philippa Hardesty, Isabelle Sellors, Sophie Barrow and Talia Garner.

The U14 team went up against a very strong Fram side, and, despite some excellent efforts from individuals, were outclassed on the day. Despite the loss there were positives that the team can take away and work on in lessons and at practice.

SQUAD: Abbey Ayers, Harriet Blake, Lottie Whattam, Atlanta Webster, Isabel Kingston, Olivia Marks, Emily Catlin, Isabel Hartley and Mia Ellis-Wood.
