Wednesday 12th June

The U12 team, made up of Year 6 and Year 7 pupils, played an incredibly close game against Langley last Wednesday afternoon. Bronwen Laxton was named player of the match for her superb bowling.

The U13 team beat Langley convincingly. The team were led by Abbey Ayers and the girls worked hard to maintain their early lead. Erin Reed was named player of the match for his superb fielding, especially when she had to change position at the last minute. The final score was 15 ½ to Hethersett and 7 to Langley.

The U12, U13, U14 and U15 rounders teams travelled to the City of Norwich School for a rounders fixture. The U12 team captained by Grace Robinson played fantastically! Their batting was consistent and their fielding was so strong that they managed to win by 8 ½ rounders. The player of the match went to Jessica Lloyd for her superb work in deep field. The final score was 25 ½ to Hethersett and 17 to CNS.

Captained by Erin Reed, the U13 team took part in a very closely fought match. The final score was 13 rounders to Hethersett and 12 to CNS. The player of the match was Eleanor Whattam for her great work as backstop and some effective batting.

The U14 team, captained by Lily Cook, started very strongly, keeping CNS to only a handful of rounders. Some very effective batting from Chloe Sellors and Olivia Culling meant that we created a confident lead. During the second innings the girls, who have not lost a game all season, worked tirelessly to maintain their lead and went on to win the game 20 rounders to 9 ½. Player of the match went to Lily Cook for her superb work as backstop.

The U15 team always work well together and have great team spirit. The team were lead by Olivia Freer and created some excellent chances with some superb batting from Emily-Jayne Matthews. Shannon Osborne worked very effectively in deep field, preventing numerous rounders from being scored, making her player of the match. Unfortunately the girls lost the match 21 rounders to CNS and 13 rounder to Hethersett, but their enthusiasm and commitment continues.

Well done girls!
