Match report: U9 & U11 hockey v Old School Henstead

Our younger age groups were in action yesterday at a very sunny but bitterly cold Old School Henstead. Sadly both teams lost but we have developed our skill level and realised the importance of passing the ball wide into space.

Player of the match for the U9 team: Oliver

Player of the match for the U11 team: Maxim

Great effort everyone!

Match report: U9 & U11 hockey v St Felix School

Last Friday saw us play a very strong St Felix School at hockey. Despite our best efforts, both the U9 and U11 teams lost. However, this was the first match for many of our pupils and an opportunity to experience the challenge of playing a new opposition and work on some of our basic hockey skills.

Match report: U14 and U16 netball v CNS

The U14 and U16 netball teams played at home yesterday afternoon versus City of Norwich School. Both teams won convincing victories, with scores of 10-5 and 18-3 respectively.

Player of the Match for the U14 team was Sophie S, who was on fire when shooting!  Alice and Mia shared the title in the U16 match. A wonderful start following the Christmas break, well done!

Match report: U11A hockey v Langley School

On Monday afternoon our U11A team travelled to Langley Senior School. We started slowly and found ourselves 1-0 down very quickly, but this seemed to wake us up and we started to match the strong Langley attacks.

We managed to pull a goal back when an excellent run from Poppy down the right found Sam in the circle and he hit the ball cleanly into the goal. Langley came back at us, though,  and despite some resilient defending from Alexander in defence, they proved too strong and the game finished 4-1.

Player of the match was awarded to Alexander for his defensive efforts.

Match report: U8 A/B hockey v Norwich School

Our U8A/B team had a great time at their first ever hockey match against Norwich School. Despite a torrential downpour half way through the matches, we carried on regardless and came away with one win and one loss. The children can all be very proud of their performances. Player of the match awards went to Albert for his efforts in midfield and Adam for scoring some goals. Special mentions also go to Theo who, despite a bump on the head, improved throughout the match and Felicity who didn’t miss a tackle all game.
