Years 3 and 4 at the Synagogue

Years 3 and 4 have been learning about Judaism and yesterday they went to Norwich Synagogue to find out more about it. They spent an informative morning learning about the features inside the synagogue, trying on traditional dress and learning some Hebrew. This was followed by a ‘Shabbat at home’ workshop, which involved being part of a Shabbat feast complete with candles, songs, ‘wine’ and Challah – Jewish bread.  They also learnt about kosher foods. The children enjoyed joining in with the all the activities and they asked very sensible questions.

It’s definitely a bleak mid-winter!

Whilst the school grounds may not be looking their best at this time of year, at least they have inspired Year 3 to produce some lovely paintings and written work. Year-3-winter-trees10Year-3-winter-trees7Year-3-winter-trees2Year-3-winter-trees9

The perfect playground by Year 1

As part of their Design Technology module this term, Year 1 have been busy dreaming up their perfect playground.

They started off by drawing a plan and writing about what playground equipment they would like to include, before constructing a model of their own – with a little help from Mrs Halford and the glue gun!

See their initial drawings and ideas here.
