Mini Tennis

Pupils in the Nursery, Reception and the Prep School have the opportunity to enter the world of tennis with our exciting and comprehensive Mini Tennis programme. With smaller courts, nets and rackets and lower bouncing balls, mini tennis offers the perfect introduction to the sport.

There are 4 stages of Mini Tennis; Tots, Red, Orange and Green, each with their own court size and type of ball.

During every coaching session, pupils work on developing their basic ball and racket skills, strokes and movement. This tailored approach enables pupils to develop vital skills and techniques at an early age.

All pupils take part in the LTA Mini Tennis Rally Awards scheme, designed to help mini players learn in stages and take part in exercises with regular rewards which encourages them to develop their skills at a pace that suits them.

There are 4 skills that Red, Orange and Green players are assessed on; Rally, Serve, Come to the net and Score and Compete.

Pupils are presented with certificates and badges after successfully completing each award. All pupils receive LTA Mini Tennis merchandise including t-shirts, pens, stickers, wrist bands, stickers, key rings and bags!

Mini tennis tournaments are organised every term and certificates and medals are awarded to all players.
